Helping teachers share engaging learning materials is a beautiful mission. But without the right SEO strategy, even the best platforms can remain hidden online.
I analyzed Eduki.com—a K–12 platform where teachers across Europe (especially Germany) share and discover classroom materials. In this use case, I’ll walk you through my SEO audit and content strategy recommendations to improve Eduki’s visibility and reach.
🚀 TL;DR
Eduki hosts thousands of high-quality learning materials in multiple languages for millions of European educators. However, despite its strong content, Eduki isn’t ranking well for its key SEO targets.
The opportunity? With better technical SEO, international optimization, and strategic content improvements, Eduki could dramatically boost traffic, dominate relevant keywords, and gain visibility across search engines—including AI-driven platforms.
The Problem: Struggling to appear on Google’s first page
Right now, Eduki struggles to appear on Google’s first page—or worse, doesn’t show up at all.
Based on my SEO audit, the key issues include:
- Poorly optimized page structure (H1, H2, H3)
- Inconsistent user experience
- Misaligned international SEO across different country domains
- Numerous broken and missing links
- Failing Core Web Vitals
- No blog or content hub to support organic visibility
In short: Eduki has incredible potential—it just needs the right structure and strategy to shine.
Methodology
I used Screaming Frog, Google PageSpeed Insights, and SEObility.net to run a full website audit. Here are the top technical issues and how to fix them:
| Issues | Recommended Fix | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|
| Missing Hreflang Return Links (.de, .bg, .es, .fi, etc.) | Add proper return annotations for each alternate URL | Without return links, search engines can’t correctly map international versions, which hurts global SEO |
| Broken Internal Links (404 errors) | Replace or remove broken links; implement redirects as needed | Broken links reduce search engine trust and user experience |
| Server Errors (5xx) | Investigate server logs, fix configurations, reduce crawl rate, and retry affected pages | Inaccessible pages harm crawlability and user experience |
| ‘Noindex’ Pages | Review each case—remove noindex for valuable pages, keep it for non-ranking pages | Some content is being blocked from appearing in search, limiting traffic |
| Core Web Vitals (INP, CLS) | Optimize for performance: fix layout shifts, defer JavaScript, and improve responsiveness | Google considers Core Web Vitals in its ranking algorithm, and users bounce from slow pages |

At the moment, Eduki has thousand pages, and there’s a lot that are not well-optimized. Fixing these issues manually will likely to take weeks, so I asked ChatGPT on how to fasten the work with the help of AI tools and AI agents.
Here are a couple of recommended SEO and AI tools:
| SEO and AI tools | Usage |
| Screaming Frog | extracts hreflang data and use AI prompts to generate the correct hreflang return tags for each locale at scale |
| AIPRM | create prompts for international SEO fixes |
| Ahrefs or SEMrush | easily finds broken internal links (404s) |
| Link Whisper | automatically suggests internal linking fixes |
| JetOctopus | highlights crawl spikes and affected pages |
| Sitebulb SEO Crawler or SEObility.net | crawls noindexed pages |
| Surfer AI | AI writing assistance and analyzer for SEO content |
| Nitropack | automates JS optimization, lazy loading, and CDN delivery |
| Vercel AI | helps optimize layout shifts and INP |
| Hexomatic | automates broken link detection and AI rewriting of anchor content |
| ChatGPT and its Advanced Data Analysis | generates correct bidirectional tags in bulk, auto-suggest redirects or content replacements, and other analysis you need to fix issues |
| Zapier | for setting up workflows that notify and fix common issues automatically |
Key Web Performance Metrics
When it comes to web performance metrics, here’s the outcome of running the website in PageSpeed Insights.
| Metric | Current State | Fix | Impact |
|---|---|---|---|
| Interaction to Next Paint (INP) | 280ms (Needs Improvement) | Optimize JS execution, defer non-critical scripts, and use code-splitting | Faster interaction = lower bounce rate and better rankings |
| Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) | 0.15 (Needs Improvement) | Reserve image space, prevent content shifts, use aspect-ratio CSS | Reduces accidental misclicks and improves user satisfaction |

Content & SEO opportunities
Technical fixes are only half the story. Here’s how Eduki can boost visibility through strategic content improvements:
| Opportunity | Action |
|---|---|
| Not ranking well for pages, images, or videos (e.g., interaktive Arbeitsblätter) | Optimize images and YouTube content to rank in Google Images and Videos |
| Incomplete SEO on key pages (titles, headings, metadata) | Audit and rewrite on-page elements for top-priority pages like the homepage |
| Strong community, but underutilized | Leverage user-generated content (UGC) — e.g., highlight weekly top creators in a newsletter |
| No blog or learning resource section | Create a blog hub with pedagogy insights, classroom tips, and SEO-rich educational content |
| Already known in Germany—how to go global? | Run a competitive analysis to find SERP gaps and optimize for new international keywords. Also, optimize for LLMs like ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity for AI-era discovery. |
The Untapped Potential
With a few strategic shifts, Eduki could massively expand its digital footprint:
- Fix core web vitals and page-level technical SEO
- Build topical authority around key search terms (e.g., interaktive Arbeitsblätter)
- Dominate Google Images with optimized visuals
- Launch a blog/resource hub for teachers
- Build a thriving teacher community—either integrated or via platforms like Discord or Circle
- Reach new audiences via Google, Bing, and AI search engines
With the right execution, it’s possible to tap the hidden potential of Eduki’s website, in a faster and better way.
